Discharge of A Writ: A Discharge of a Writ is performed when a registration is no longer required or relevant. A registration may no longer be required when the terms have been satisfied. Generally, the party that submitted the original request for the registration would submit the discharge. It is possible, however, that a party other than the submitting party (solicitor / agent) may request the discharge, or an Order may have been obtained ordering the discharge of the registration
Amendment of a Writ of Enforcement: An amendment is registered to make changes to an existing registration of a Writ. Depending on the registration type, changes can be made to most of the details supplied when the Writ was originally registered. The court file, original judgment amount, costs, current amount owing, date of judgment, date the Writ was issued, post judgement interest, debtor name and/or address, secured party name, and/or address and collateral details can be edited to correct previously supplied details or be deleted if no longer required on the registration.
